I'm the founder of a nonprofit animal sanctuary in North Carolina, Jenna and Friends Animal Sanctuary. I write all the marketing content for the organization, including website content, Facebook promotional campaigns, and social media posts. I get lots of social media likes and shares. About our organizationJenna and Friends Animal Sanctuary is a 2.73-acre property outside of Chapel Hill, NC for rescued animals, including pot bellied pigs, farm pigs, chickens, and guinea pigs. I started my dream of rescuing animals in late 2015, and now I'm well on my way with 16 animals. Each animal has a heartbreaking rescue story, but the ending is always happy.
The sanctuary is named after my beloved dog and best friend Jenna. She deeply touched my life in so many ways. I just had to keep her sweet memory alive in the name so she can serve as a constant inspiration and reminder that my mission is and always will be to rescue, care for, and provide love and compassion to our animal friends as long as I live. |
About our rescue animalsMiss Lucy was dropped off at another sanctuary on a cold night with no note or explanation about her situation. It was a freezing, dark night, and our friends literally drove up in their driveway to find a crate filled with a scared pig shivering and wondering her fate.
Lucy is a very gentle, docile pig who often tends to root around the yard by herself. She’s extremely wise, and she'll stare you directly in the eyes – right into your soul. She definitely recognizes her rescue, and she expresses her gratitude often with her sweet nudges. One of the sweetest things she does every morning is sit in the exact same spot by the gate, waiting for me to come out with breakfast. I love Miss Lucy! |
Facebook fundraiser appealIt's Valentine's Month, and we are all about the OINKIN' and the LOVIN'! The piggies and chickens are living the dream, and we want to keep it that way. We are still paying off vet bills from the bacterial infection that came through a couple of months ago, and of course we always need supplies like straw and food. We are also in the process of planning some awesome barn updates coming soon!
Oh, and stay tuned for a cool video about the sanctuary. It's geared for anyone who wants to get started with a small "micro" sanctuary for rescued farm animals. If I can do it, anyone can. Whether you donate $5 or $500, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support! |
